Subject: Agenda item for MSHCP Advisory Committee regarding economic and land use expertise

Dear Richard:

Riverside County Farm Bureau proposes that an item be placed on the agenda for the MSHCP Advisory Committee to forward a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors regarding economic and land use expertise.

Farm Bureau proposes to recommend that the county consider contracting for additional consultant support to supply information on economic and land use aspects of the MSHCP.

While the current consultant arrangement supplies biological information and recommendations, the final recommendation of the advisory committee depends in large part on economic and land use decisions. The success of the MSHCP requires that it be economically feasible and that it accommodate land use needs in the county as part of the Riverside County Integrated Plan. Farm Bureau believes advisory committee members and the public need more thorough and comprehensive information about the economic and land use implications of their decisions.
