The Right to Farm repeatedly comes under challenge, usually
for urban or non-agricultural neighbors who weren't prepared for the dust,
odors and noise that come with farming. While elected representatives at
every level of government express support for agriculture's right to exist,
complaints and pressure from non-farm neighbors can produce new problems for
farmers through new laws or new enforcement.
Right to Farm laws at the state and county level provide
protection, but Riverside County Farm Bureau and its members remain vigilant
in defense of this basic right.
